We would like to invite you to participate in our study by answering a few questions about your gaming experience after playing a PUBG match. At the end of your participation, you can request a $20 gift card by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.with your participation id, and the gift card type and country you would like. We will first verify your participation then you should receive your gift card within 10 business days of confirming your participation.

About the project:

This is part of an ongoing research project aimed at understanding the human experience in video games. The project is being undertaken by DISCOVER lab at the University of Ottawa, Canada. The results of this research will pave the way for improving the utilization of games in educational, medical, and entertainment contexts. Your answers will help you reflect better on your gaming experience and ultimately contribute in the general understanding of player engagement in video games.

Participation window: 20 Jan 2023 -- 2 Feb 2023

How to participate:

1. First, you need to play a PUBG squad match. Right after the match, you can participate by going to the participation link above.
2. (1-3 minutes) To register for participation, you will first need to sign a consent form by simply clicking on “Yes, I want to participate”.
3. After submitting the consent form. you will be provided with a unique participant ID. This ID will be linked to your submission in case you want to resume or edit your participation at any time. It will also help us trace back your answers in case you wanted to withdraw your participation all together.
4. (3-5 minutes) After registration, you will be automatically redirected to the participation form, which will ask you questions about your gaming experience. You are expected to play a PUBG Squad match before submitting your answers.
5. Finally, you can submit your answers. Your answers are saved automatically so you can continue later at any time, but will not be used in the study unless you submit them by clicking on the “Submit” button.

The research results will be shared with you if you choose to provide your email address, which will be securely stored in the lab’s storage and not used or shared for any other purpose.

Participation criteria:

1. Participants are required to have reached the age of majority.
2. Participants who have any medical conditions, or are medically advised against playing games like PUBG are not eligible to participate in the study.
